Yes, we enjoy what we do here at Endlesswave, and we think that’s why our work stands out. Don’t believe me? My parents recently gave me my “Ben box” which was a box consisting of childhood drawings, stories, favorite toys, etc. One of the things i found was my 5th grade year book. Get your laughs out as you look at the picture first, as i’m pretty sure I was the most akward little guy that ever was, and look at that mushroom cut! I don’t know how to describe how I got the nickname “Bunk” other than it just kind of happened. But I was delighted to see under ambition it said “Photographer”. There were other responses like pro athlete (maybe 60% of the guys) teacher (40% of the girls) and various models, fbi agents, etc etc. But i knew what I wanted, and it’s been something i’ve enjoyed through my life, and especially now that i get to work with the coolest couples around. Take pride in what you do, and try and enjoy it, I know we do.

Howdy everyone,
Some folks call wedding photographers/cinematographers “weekend warriors”. While partially true, there’s a lot that goes on during the week here at Endlesswave Studios. We’re hard at work meeting with couples, editing, and other such things. With back to back weddings this coming weekend, both Greg and I have been rushing around to get stuff done. But in this business we still enjoy what we do, be it getting to go scout out locations for upcoming weddings (some seen below) or trying to keep eachother sane in the studio (also seen below). This week I had the privilege of taking a picture for an elderly russian couple on the streets of Philadelphia. I was walking by, and I saw this old man fiddling with his super old school Nikon camera. I smiled and, probably looked interested, which he took notice of, and beckoned me over to take a picture of him and his wife. He asked if I had ever handled a camera such as his before, I grinned and said yes, and then pulled out my nikon d200. It was a moment of old meeting new, and as he grinned and started asking questions about my camera, we got to know eachother a bit better. We talked about photography, a bit of his story, who I am, and at the end I snapped a picture of him and his wife. I left the situation feeling a mutual respect for this man, and the road he had traveled and the knowledge and experience he has. ( I promise you, this does relate to wedding photography ) As I left, i remembered no matter what, it’s important to learn from those who have come before you. While we want to push the envelope and be as original as possible here at Endlesswave we respect those who have come before us, and learn lessons that need to be learned. This gives us a truly unique feel, and it’s why we’re serving you the way we do! (Sorry if i got a bit rambly there) Look forward to more goodness on the horizon!

my life is leading me to a very happy place. i have opportunities to do things that nobody else that i personally know get to do. this tuesday, i was given the chance to go with paul, one of our grooms, to the premiere of the pacific (the 10 part HBO mini-series). the pacific is a story which follows three marines involved in the pacific theater of WWII. i am a big history buff, so naturally i love this, let alone the fact that it is purely some of the best cinematography i have seen. steven spielberg and toms hanks are two of the 3 producers, who have teamed up before on band of brothers and the film saving private ryan. now that you all know a little bit about the series, we can move forward. paul works for Dolby, and does the audio for these premieres. he works a very long day, ours was about 18 hours when you consider our travel, and he has to get it perfect, because after all, this is a major motion picture. you simply can’t mess up the audio at a premiere. so his job is kind of a big deal. so i was able to learn about what he does, and also helped out wherever i could. it was the coolest experience and all of the people that he works with were so kind.
the red carpet was rolled out later that evening and guests of honor began arriving. joe mazzello and james badge dale were in attendance and also many veterans of WWII. two soldiers portrayed in band of brothers, bill garnier and babe hefron were also there. it was such an honor to see these men who served our country in that terrible war. also in attendance were four members of the tuskegee airmen and it was a pleasure getting to shake all of their hands, and say “thank you.” overall, i must say that HBO Playtone and Dreamworks hit yet another homerun with this mini-series. check out the pacific on HBO, sunday, march 14, 2010 at 9pm.
after part one of the mini series ended, we broke down the screen, the projectors, the drape, the wiring, and the speakers. we said goodnight and went on our way. a one and a half hour drive home from philadelphia. i got to really know paul well over the course of this long day, and i am so glad that my friend invited me to go with him. thanks paul.
